Abstract:
Soil erosion is agriculture’s enemy: a major environmental threat to sustainability and productivity with knock-on effects on the climate crisis and food security. Protection against soil erosion through sustainable land management can solve a multitude of problems. Soil erosion is a continuous process that occurs either slowly or at an alarming rate. It results in a continuous loss of topsoil, ecological degradation, soil collapse, among other things. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the causes, effects, and preventive measures of soil erosion. Responsible soil management techniques are critical to protecting land from soil erosion.
